Assist in the development of content for organizational website and social media pages.  Assist in developing and implementing communications and advocacy strategies. Assist in the development of talking points for media programs.
  • Assist in training National and district staff in communications and documentation. Conduct media monitoring and write reports.

  • Development of an online database for Agribusiness Co-operatives.
  • Consolidate the crop results per products and present the final report (including experiences and recommendations).
  • Identify social, cultural, technical and profitability problems for improvement
  • Support technical supervision, assistance and trainings in Agribusiness
  • Support the identification of business opportunities

Trainee Position: Coastal and marine conservation

Where:

Quirimbas National Park – QNP, Bazaruto Archipelago National Park – BANP, Pomene National Reserve – PNR and Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve

Tasks:
  • Support the implementation of the monitoring and research program with the logistics of monitoring activities
  • Collect and process data on field ecological monitoring; mangrove forests, seagrasses, rocky shores, subsistence and artisanal fisheries and marine turtles
  • Prepare field monitoring material and training materials
  • Provide support in data insertion and analysis
Education:
  • Marine Biology, Aquatic Sciences, Biological Sciences or Natural Resource Management
  • (A dive certificate is not necessary as collection will be done from land or shallow waters)
Qualifications and/or personal skills:
  • Capacity to work in the field, especially the coast and sea, over long periods.
  • You have knowledge of Excel (data insertion, pivot tables and other analysis) statistical programmes Google Earth or other GIS programmes

Uganda

Trainee position: Peace and Security for women

Location:

Kampala

Tasks:
  • Support project documentation processes such as writing success stories, lessons learnt. Develop reports for activities as well as periodic reports.
  • Represent NAWOU in meetings. Support the monitoring and evaluation function. Communication through use of social media platforms to profile organizational work. Contribute to preparation of periodic communication materials including the newsletter content. Documenting relevant data on various areas and also participate in drafting of relevant sections of resource mobilization documents.

Qualifications and/or personal skills:
  • Willing and able to travel to rural settings. Project planning, monitoring and evaluation, scheduling, budgeting are skills that are welcome.

  • Support Communication initiatives of Uganda We Effect Office and partners in Uganda.
  • Provide technical guidance to field teams undergoing project implementation based on communication needs findings. Train partners in usage of social media tools.  Improved partner media usage and computer skills in communcating their respective work.
  • Preparing fact sheets and outreach materials, including graphics, IEC
  • Support and train partners in report writing skills; Newsletter; periodic reports etc.
  • Explore possibilities of creating and enhance partner visibility and communication of its work

Trainee position: Environment and climate change

  • Guide UCCFS, and member cooperatives on the preparation and implementation of collective measures to address climate and environment change in Uganda while assuring sustainable social and economic development.
  • Assess the organisational activities and identify areas to minimise environmental impact.
  • Support in formulating prototype environment and climate change policy for UCCFS and members.
  • Developing environmental and climate change training and literature materials.
  • Develop education and information publicity materials about environmental and climate change.
  • Participate in training of co-operative leaders, management staff and members about environment and climate change.

Degree or equivalent related to environment and climate change.

Trainee Position: Gender equality and women’s empowerment

Location:

Nairobi

Tasks:
  • Review existing programs and some documents to understand the context and identify the gender gaps in the documents. Review some of our tools, methods and approaches to see if they are gender responsive and make recommendations for adjustments. Review proposed interventions and gauge their gender responsiveness and make recommendations. Recommend relevant indicators for measuring progress in the specific interventions both at mainstreaming and women empowerment interventions levels
  • Recommend monitoring/ evaluation processes that will be applied to measure progress
  • Assist the gender team and a gender technical partner, pilot the monitoring process with two core partners for learning purposes.

  • A team player with monitoring and evaluation knowledge and experience particularly in gathering and managing qualitative data.
